The University of Arizona Foundation was founded in 1958 as an Arizona 501(c)3)organization nonprofit corporation. Gifts to the UAF are exempt from Federal income tax.
The Foundation provides assistance to the University in three areas: fund-raising, asset management and facilitation.
A volunteer board of trustees governs the UA Foundation. Comprised of business and civic leaders, the Board is responsible for the Foundation’s policies, procedures and direction.
John-Paul Roczniak is Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of the UA Foundation and serves on the cabinet of UA President Ann Weaver Hart.
The University of Arizona Foundation is the largest higher education foundation in the state of Arizona with an endowment of approximately $673 million and having generated nearly $3 billion in cumulative private funding for the University of Arizona. With an asset base over $850 million, the UAF recorded over $290 million in gifts and commitments during FY 2015.
