Annual Giving Office
The Annual Giving office (AG) is charged with raising unrestricted support for University of Arizona colleges, schools and health science centers of excellence. Annual gifts are solicited via direct mail programs, the Telephone Outreach Program (TOP), Matching Gifts and personal solicitations. The mission of the AG is to build broad-based, annual philanthropic support for The University of Arizona by maintaining regular contact with more than 250,000 alumni, parents, faculty, staff, friends and students every year.
The AG is responsible for supporting and delivering programs that will encourage annual renewable gifts across the institution. All stakeholders should have an opportunity to give, in a forum of comfort, to the institution in a seamless manner.
We are committed to developing a comprehensive Annual Giving operation that will renew donors, reactivate lapsed donors and acquire new donors to The University of Arizona.
- Renewal
- Offer every donor from the previous year an opportunity to give this year.
- Build the habit of giving on an annual basis
- Reactivation
- Reactivate past donors who did not give last year
- Encourage consistency in giving habits
- Acquisition
- Offer opportunities for those who have never given to make a gift
- Educate students and young alumni about the impact of philanthropy on the institution and their education

Telephone Outreach Program (TOP)
Beginning July 1, 2010 the Telephone Outreach Program will be managed by Ruffalo Cody as part of their Masters program. With numerous clients across the country Ruffalo Cody brings the knowledge and experience to build upon the success of the program. TOP will continue to employ 80 UA students to connect with UA alumni, parents, friends and students to update records, inform them of University news and provide an opportunity to support the program of their choice with a philanthropic gift.
In existence since 1998, TOP connects with thousands of individuals each year, raising funds and enhancing relationships between the University and its stakeholders.
Direct Mail Program
The AG direct mail program provides UA Alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends with a reliable medium to maintain a relationship with the University as well as a regular opportunity to support the financial health of the institution.
Over the last 5 years the direct mail program has generated more than $1.3M in gifts from more than 16,000 donors.
Faculty, Staff and Appointed Professionals appeal (UA Cares)
UA Cares offers University of Arizona faculty, staff and appointed professionals an opportunity to support the philanthropic needs of the institution.
